June 1st 2013

Hey Everyone,
Well its been awhile since I have posted. We have been in the middle of moving but now we are getting settled in so I am getting some more time to blog.

Lizzy started maintenance yesterday.. Wahoooo She is doing amazing! She is our fighter. She has been reacting to Chemo very well and the doctors even said how awesome she is doing with everything and how well her body is taking everything. Right now in the stages of maintenance she will be doing steroids for 5 days a month which obviously steroids are not our best friend but we will take 5 days out of a whole month over everyday :)

Being in maintenance means her hair is now going to start growing back, which she is so excited about. I told Liz the other day well actually I do everyday :) I think she is so beautiful the way it is now and she says ya but mom I want it long again so I can brush it, it was so cute. I will tell ya she is a girl that loves to do her hair and actually lets mommy do it. Her favorite thing I use to do to her hair before she was diagnosed with cancer was pig tails :)

I am so excited that we are passed the stage now of her having these crazy low anc levels.. yay for maintenance. Its so hard when her levels get low because she basically has to stay indoors all day and doesn't get to go to stores or anything, but I will tell ya when she knows her levels are low she is all about staying indoors and being around no one sick, she says mom I don't want to go back to the hospital so I am fine not going anywhere :) She is one silly girl.

Thank you all so much for keeping her and our family in your prayers, those prayers are for sure working. We appreciate you all.

Here are some updated pictures :)

1/17/13

For the last couple of weeks Lizzy has just continued to get better and been happier then can be.. as we would say "Lizzy is back " We just love having her happy, full of energy girl back.. and we know Jaz is too!

I am sure most of you have already seen Lizzy's new stylish hair cut but for those who haven't..Here she is! :-) Lizzy everyday will wake up and say I really like my hair, this of course just makes us smile. I am so glad to see her loving herself and loving her hair because it was one thing I was nervous about. She  looks so beautiful!
And...... Just love this one of Lizzy & Jazzy! Love our silly girls!

Tonight some tears have come out just thinking to myself and looking at picture's just a few months ago before Lizzy was diagnosed with Cancer and I guess its just sad how one can change so fast. I am so glad our baby is feeling better but it does hit me sometimes just looking at pictures because it just makes me sad that she has to go through this for so long and doesn't get to go to school like kids her age right now, but ill tell ya we try my best to make her days as amazing as possible.

Last week we went into Lizzy's old preschool she went to before she was diagnosed with Luekemia to get her school pictures and they had a ton of adorable things they put together for Lizzy.. crafts, books, cards etc... I'll tell ya those people that work there including the owners, they are amazing and so loving and kind, I appreciate all that everyone has done for her and even Jasmine. We're so lucky to have such amazing people in our life. Thank you all so much!

I wanted to post the picture's below because this day we went to gardener village as a family and we had such a wonder day that day.. This was just 4 months ago..

I am glad I got a minute tonight to blog and give updates on our princess Lizzy. I wanted to share some pictures today of our Lizzy. The first picture is Lizzy on Christmas. Christmas was good for her but she didn't have much energy to want to open presents but I will say her favorite gift on Christmas was the popcorn maker that santa got her :-) hehe we seriously had popcorn every day about 4-5 times a day...
The second picture is a package Lizzy received from one of my Directors, she did something so amazing. She and a bunch of wonderful people donated hats for our Lizzy.. She got so excited while she opened it and saw so many adorable hats and I'll tell ya she sure loves having a huge box of hats to pick from every day :-) and yes Jasmine loves to wear them too... Who wouldn't right? I just want to say Thank you SO much for everyone who donated these amazing hats to our girl and thanks to everyone who has done things for her, we seriously appreciate you all and Lizzy sure has loved all the fun surprises.. Thank you for putting a smile on her face. Love ya all.
Look at all these amazing hats..... some aren't in the picture because she has them everywhere in the house :-) but aren't they AMAZING?? you are all amazing!
This Last picture just cracked us up today hahaha okay so we were out and about and she was just full of energy and then all the sudden it was quite and we look back Lizzy is sound asleep haha this is how she went to sleep haha.. Loved this so much!

Lizzy has been doing so much better as of lately she is finally off steroids and her energy has really increased these last couple days where honestly she is like Lizzy again, we are loving every moment of it.. Oh my goodness and her sweet giggle could bring a smile to everyone's face... Love her so much.

We just love watching her and her sister play again.. Jasmine is loving seeing her be Lizzy again and be able to play games together.. Lizzy has the best sister in the whole world, Jasmine is so good to her. Jasmine offers to rub her feet and get anything she needs. Watching Them hang out together and Jasmine Rub her feet is just so cute, they sure love each other... We sure do have amazing children.

On Wednesday last week she was told she is done being diabetic, no more steroids and doesn't have to do ANYTHING for 10 days.... WAHOOOO I'll tell ya its wonderful seeing her be happy and not have to be poked every couple hours and I'll tell ya she is sure loving it too.

The only down side of this week was she had come down with a high fever and had to go to the ER and do blood work and have her heart watched to make sure everything was ok and it was, thank goodness.. So she came home within just a few hours after they gave her an antibiotic to fix the problem and now her fever finally broke last night... whew!

On Friday Lizzy will have Chemo and Surgery to get everything checked again and will begin a chemo pill everyday for a little bit. Its just the next phase.. But our girl has got this.. She is so strong..

12-31-2012

Sorry I am behind on blogging. Well the day we went to get the girls new hair cuts Jasmine got an adorable hair cut to her shoulders but unfortunately Lizzys hair had a huge knot that couldn't come out because they said that is what can happen when she starts to lose it that it can knot and hers was unable to come out. We decided to just try and fix everything at home because honestly that was one hard day for us as a family because watching our precious Lizzy looking at herself in the mirror to get her hair cut broke our hearts she just stared at herself with a sad face because of how different she is looking and I went and just starting talking to her and put myself in front of the mirror so she didn't just stare at herself because i know it was making her sad and that helped, but i said Liz do you want me to turn you the other way so we can get down and she says yes mom.. But mom I dont like these pieces of my hair which was her missing hair and she said can we go get me a wig now and i said yes of course we can so we all packed up and found her a couple adorable wigs she loved....

Above is a picture of her very favorite one...  Love my girls!

That night I sat down with Lizzy with a comb that has those pick ends and I picked her hair to get those knots out because I was going to make those knots come out no matter what and she says mommy can you give me a hair cut so I got most out but had to cut her pony off but was able to have some hair left so we didn't have to shave it yet, to be honest i am not emotionally ready for that, breaks our heart when she says i dont want to lose my hair, or will it come back...

This journey is very sad and hard to watch our precious girl go through but we are taking the days the best we can, she is a very strong girl and i know she will get through this.

just 3 more days of those darn steriods....... and that swelling will start to go away.......

Lizzy December 26th 2012

Our baby girl in her new Christmas outfit on her way to the hospital to go get Chemo.. Such a strong girl.. She says to  me today after I got her dressed today, mom I look cute.. I have matching black skirt and black top... and my boots are like cow girl boots.. I said Lizzy yes you do, you look so beautiful and stylish..

Tomorrow she gets a new haircut. Her hair has started to come out and is just turning into knots so tomorrow is the day to get a new stylish hair cut, she is so excited and her sister Jasmine decided to do a shorter cute hair cut with her...

One of our favorite things lately is how much Lizzy LOVES popcorn.. She wants to eat it just about all day long, she smells each piece of popcorn before she eats it :-) It is just to darn cute!

We hope you all had a wonderful Christmas...
